Resources for Recession Hit
Families & Individuals |
|
| |
 |
|
As the recession bites,
families and individuals around us, perhaps even some of us, will find
themselves experiencing need that they have not previously known. The idea of
this resource is to gather information on access to help of all kinds that we
can share with anyone who needs them and add to as new resources are made
available and new information reaches us. As resources increase the buttons on
the left will lead to other pages of links. |

hand-me-downs is a new classifieds site for moms where you can buy sell give
away or donate your new and 'gently used' baby gear, clothing, toys, childcare
services and more. They find the best items from around the web and combine them
with their own listings - the next step is up to visitors. |

Homelessness is a problem that affects many people in
America. If you are homeless yourself and need help or if you want to learn more
about homelessness and how you can help, they have information for you. HUD,
along with many other federal agencies, funds programs to help the homeless.
These programs are managed by local organizations that provide a range of
services, including shelter, food, counseling, and jobs skills programs. So
start by contacting a homeless assistance agency in your area. |

@linnetwoods
This
site is a homeless search engine/spider & portal dedicated to giving resources
(food banks, soup kitchens, hostels, shelters, housing, welfare, panhandling,
food stamps, employment & jobs, squatting, news, laws & human rights, etc) that
homeless (runaways, veterans, disabled, poor/poverty, etc) and low-incomed
people can use to help them get off the streets. Just use the search form above
this paragraph (no porn, no crap, just hand picked helpful sites).
How can homeless people use this tool? What homeless person owns a computer? Every
library across North America (Canada and USA) has public access computers with
free internet access (please spread the word, we even got this easy to remember
domain name SpareSomeChange.com as most people who ever wound up homeless have
panhandled with the phrase "Spare Some Change?"). This FREE tool helps homeless
individuals help themselves! Donations keep this site running and free. |
